Diamonds come in all kinds of shapes, round, oval, cushion, pear, and more. The shape doesn’t affect the quality, but it does change how the diamond looks on the finger and how it sparkles. Round brilliants usually sparkle the most, while longer shapes (like oval or emerald) can make fingers look slimmer.
At Divour, we say: go with the one that just feels right, not the one someone told you to pick.
Carat measures how much a diamond weighs. One carat (1.00ct) equals 0.20 grams, about the weight of a paperclip. Two diamonds can weigh the same but look different depending on their shape and how they’re cut.
We suggest setting your budget first, then playing with cut and shape to find the sweet spot for size.
Most diamonds have a tiny bit of tint, usually yellow or brown, picked up as they form. The closer to colorless, the icier and brighter the stone will look. That’s why higher color grades (D, E, F) are popular, especially if you want that crisp, white sparkle.
We recommend sticking to D–F for that clean, timeless look.
Clarity is all about how clean the diamond looks under magnification. Most have small natural marks (called inclusions), but many are so tiny you’ll never notice them without a microscope. Paying for flawless might not be worth it if you can't even spot the flaw.
Our advice? VS2 to SI1 for natural diamonds, or VVS1 to VS1 for lab, great balance of value and beauty.
Only Round diamonds having Cut value.
Cut is what makes a diamond sparkle. It tells you how well the stone’s proportions and angles reflect light. Even a high-carat diamond can look dull if the cut’s off. Cut grades only apply to round diamonds, but other shapes have symmetry and polish grades you’ll want to check too.
We recommend Excellent (GIA) or Ideal (IGI), different names, same top-tier sparkle.
Price depends on lots of things: size, cut, color, clarity, and even shape. You could see two diamonds with the same specs priced very differently depending on what’s actually visible to the eye. Tiny differences on paper can mean big differences in price.
We’re here to help you find the one that looks amazing and makes sense for your wallet.
At Divour Diamonds, we offer a wide selection of diamonds that are all certified by leading gemological institutes such as GIA, IGI, EGL USA, EGL INT'L, and HRD, ensuring that each stone meets the highest standards of quality and authenticity. These prestigious certification bodies are recognized worldwide for their rigorous grading processes, providing our customers with the confidence that their diamond has been independently evaluated and verified for its cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. Whether you choose a GIA-certified diamond for the utmost precision or one from IGI, EGL, or HRD for excellent value, every diamond we offer comes with a trusted certification to guarantee its true worth.
It refers to the smoothness of a diamond's surface, which affects its brilliance. A well-polished diamond reflects light better, enhancing its sparkle. Graded from Excellent to Poor, higher polish grades indicate a smoother, more flawless surface. At Divour Diamonds, we ensure our diamonds are polished to the highest standards for maximum brilliance and we recommend choosing an excellent polish.
It refers to the precise alignment and arrangement of a diamond's facets, which directly influences its overall appearance and brilliance. Diamonds with excellent symmetry have perfectly aligned, evenly shaped facets that allow light to be reflected and refracted in the most optimal way, maximizing sparkle. Symmetry is graded from Excellent to Poor, with higher grades indicating superior facet alignment. At Divour Diamonds, we emphasize the importance of symmetry, ensuring that each diamond we offer delivers exceptional brilliance and visual appeal. We recommend choosing diamonds with an Excellent symmetry grade.
Fluorescence in diamonds causes a visible glow under UV light, usually blue, which can make diamonds appear hazy or enhance their whiteness, especially in lower color grades. Graded from "None" to "Very Strong," strong fluorescence often lowers price, making diamonds without fluorescence more desirable.
The L/W ratio (Length/Width ratio) in diamonds measures the proportional relationship between the diamond's length and width. It's used to assess the shape and symmetry, with ideal ratios varying by shape. A higher ratio results in a more elongated appearance, while a lower ratio creates a squarer look. The right L/W ratio enhances a diamond's overall aesthetics and visual appeal, especially for fancy shapes like oval or marquise.
It refers to the flat, top facet of the diamond, usually the largest. It impacts the diamond's brilliance by controlling how light enters and exits the stone. Its size, as a percentage of the diamond's diameter, affects the stone's sparkle. A well-proportioned table helps maximize the diamond's light performance and visual appeal.
It refers to the height of the diamond from the top (table) to the bottom (pavilion), measured as a percentage of its diameter. It affects the diamond's overall proportions and light performance. A well-balanced depth enhances brilliance, while too shallow or deep can reduce sparkle. The ideal depth for a round diamond is typically between 59% and 62%.

Cut refers to how precisely a diamond's facets are shaped and arranged. A well-cut diamond reflects light beautifully, giving that bright, fiery sparkle people love. It's not about shape, but how well the diamond handles light. For round diamonds, Cut is graded formally; for other shapes, check Polish and Symmetry too. Excellent or Ideal for top sparkle and brilliance.
Carat is how much a diamond weighs. People often think bigger is better, but carat doesn't tell the whole story. Two diamonds of the same weight can look different based on cut, shape, and proportions. 1.00ct = 0.20 grams.Focus on cut and shape first, then choose a carat that fits your budget and finger size.
Most diamonds have tiny hints of yellow or brown due to natural trace elements. Colour grading shows how noticeable (or not) those tints are. Higher grades (closer to D) mean a whiter, brighter diamond. Colour is a big visual factor, so it's often worth prioritising. D to F for a crisp, clean look.
Clarity grades how clean a diamond is, inside and out. Tiny marks called inclusions or blemishes are natural. The trick is finding a stone where they're either microscopic or cleverly hidden. VS2 to SI1 for natural diamonds, VVS2 to VS1 for lab-grown, a great balance of beauty and value.
Polish refers to how smooth and clean each diamond facet is after cutting. A higher polish grade means fewer surface marks and better light reflection. Poor polish can cause haze or dullness, even in a well-cut stone. Excellent or Very Good for the cleanest finish and brightest sparkle.
Symmetry is about how precisely a diamond's facets line up. Good symmetry helps light bounce correctly, which boosts sparkle. It's especially key in fancy shapes like oval or pear, where imbalance is easier to spot. Excellent or Very Good for a crisp, balanced look.
Some diamonds glow under UV light, that's fluorescence. In strong sunlight, heavy fluorescence can make a diamond appear hazy or cloudy. Low to none is usually best for a sharp, clear look, especially in higher colour grades. None to Faint for the most consistent brilliance in all lighting.
A diamond's measurements tell you the actual physical size, not just the weight. Listed as length x width x depth (in mm), this gives you a clearer picture of how it'll sit on a ring and look on your hand. Always check measurements, especially if you're comparing diamonds of similar carat.
The table is the big, flat facet right on top of the diamond, where most light enters. Table percentage helps gauge light performance. Too small or too big can throw off sparkle. The "ideal" percentage depends on shape, but for round diamonds, there's a sweet spot. 54% to 60% for round diamonds.
Depth is the height of the diamond from table to culet (tip), shown as a percentage of width. Depth affects light return, too shallow or deep can mean less sparkle. Ideal depth ranges depend on the diamond shape. 59% to 62.5% for round diamonds.
A diamond grading report is your quality guarantee. It gives all the technical details, cut, colour, clarity, and more, certified by a third-party gem lab. We only show diamonds with trusted reports from reputable labs. Divour sources diamonds with reports from: GIA, IGI, or GCAL.
Every certified diamond has a unique report number, like a fingerprint. It links to the lab's grading report, so you can verify all the details anytime. Divour includes certificate numbers for transparency and peace of mind.
